There is a lot going on today. I got a taste of it on my 5 minute drive to work this morning as I listened to Morning Edition on NPR. Today is the 200th anniversary of Lincoln's birth, the 150th anniversary of Darwin's publication of 'Origin of the Species,' and the 100th anniversar of the founding of the NAACP. In more current events, 8 big CEOs and Congress are sparring on Capitol Hill over whether or not TARP funds were used most effectively in the fourth quarter of 2008. But even with these important things going on in our world and in our history, I had one thing on my mind this morning...
My wife and I are going away to Breckenridge for the weekend. We've never had a night away from both children. We've traveled a lot - as a family - and of course I've traveled a lot for the last 3 years with HopeChest. But this is a first since having children for a romantic weekend away.
Happy Valentine's Day!
