Last week we enjoyed what we called the 'all-inclusive staycation.' We went to my in-laws for our annual summer vacation. With kids 6 weeks, 20 months, and 3 years old, any other option would have been more work than it was worth. But 4 acres, grandparental childcare, coffee on the back porch in the morning, a pool, a pond, gourment cooking from a family of foodies, a wine cellar, cigars, bluegrass in the park, pizza and wings... it was a great week. Now it's back to the grind and August has some big things waiting for me...
I'm volunteering this week with the Hilliard Free Lunch Program that our church is a part of. The Lutheran Emergent cohort is in town. I'm preparing to preaching on Eph 5:1-20 on Sunday (working title: 'Women, Words, and Wine'). DOMA is speeding toward its first board meeting and a launch party here in Columbus. And I'm running a half-marathon on Saturday.
Here's to a great wrap up to the summer!
