HIV/AIDS is killing street kids and orphans in the former Soviet Union

In some parts of Russia, the HIV/AIDS infection rate has increased 700% since 2006.  This out of control spread of a deadly disease is connected directly to IV drug use and sex trafficking.  What is the solution?  Is there a solution?  UNICEF Executive Director Anthony Lake said, "Children and adolescents living on the margins of society need access to health and social welfare services, not a harsh dose of disapproval.'  Michael Sidibe, Executive Director of UNAIDS said, "the spread of HIV/AIDS in eastern Europe and Central Asia could not be broken without "empowering and protecting" children and adolescents."  Read more about this story here.  And find out how Doma International is connecting with vulnerable women and orphaned children at home and abroad here.
